Gooseberry Coconut Chutney (Nellikkai chutney)

This is a very healthy side dish which can be used with rice, roti and  can be used as a sandwich filler.  Since this  chutney contains Gooseberries which are rich in vitamins and minerals,  while served as a chutney along with a meal, will enrich your diet. When you select gooseberries try to select the ripe ones which are bigger and  less bitter.

Ingredients

Grated cocount- one  cup

Gooseberries  – four

Curry leaves- 2 twigs

Shallots (small onions)- Three

Green chillies- three

Salt to taste

Cut gooseberries into pieces, add grated coconut, shallots, curry leaves, green chillies and salt and grind in a blender. The chutney will be thick in consistency.
